Feeding The People In Tonga

Saturday was my spend $$$-day. My family in Tonga had been complaining about how the prices at their shops are ridiculously expensive. So my mum and I set off down the road to buy them food products that would last a long time in Tonga. These items included sugar, flour, milk powder, soy sauce and oil but they're not your regular sized products you use at home. The stuff we bought were so big that neither my mum or I could carry it by ourselves.

Life's Most Important Lesson

If there’s one place where people teach you how to prepare for an earthquake, that’s school. That’s why schools among Aotearoa had a practise drill to get prepared if there’s any bumpy roads ahead in the future.

“RING RING RING” went the bell to warn us it was time to drop, cover, hold. Students had already dropped everything and hid under their desks. When I got under my desk I felt uncomfortable at first but I found my way.

I played a few rock, paper, scissors with my classmate to keep me entertained. Remember to Drop, Cover, Hold if there is a earthquake.

Every Sweat Is A Drop Of Water

Exploring Earth is one thing but recycling every drop of water you didn't use is another. So for astronauts this is a daily routine. For example you decide to take a shower, after your shower water is collected and poured into a recycling water machine to make brand new fresh water. This has been happening because water is not easily found by turning on a tap in Earth. Sometimes we take water for granted but astronauts have to recycle their water to survive everyday living in space.

Looking Ahead to what's happening this term.

What a long term to look ahead of. Rugby lessons, Tests and learning the true quality of our culture is what students from Ruapotaka School have stored ahead. But one particular event that I'm looking forward to is the Poetry Recital. Sharing rhyming sentences and also having parents listening too is what I'm looking forward to.

Red Peak Flag

Red Peak flag gains popularity

The Red Peak flag is on the verge of becoming the fifth option for an alternative flag.

Parliament will continue to debate today after a new bill was presented by the Green Party.

The Red Peak design began to gain public support after the four final designs were announced earlier this month.

The New Zealand First party blocked an attempt by the Greens to introduce the New Zealand Flag Referendums Amendment Bill.

But the legislation was hastily picked up by the government, and within hours, Parliament had gone into urgency to debate it.

The Greens justified the need for urgency saying with the first referendum in about six weeks, the Electoral Commission needed time to adjust the papers before they were printed

The past few weeks my group and I (Jamaine and Harris) have been working on a Rugby World Cup presentation. The slides have been planted down with different Rugby World Cup information that have been written out with 100% effort. It has been a pleasure to not only learn so much more about the Rugby World Cup but learn with students I don't often talk to everyday.
